Laid in bed, I am reflecting on the day… an early(ish) start with my morning birdsong alarm rousing me from the sleep and winding up the real birds outside. At least I hope it is, just a little bit.
Off to work with gusto. Knowing the second half of a big meeting was planned in and I would be at the helm again.
The morning past, the meeting went well. Lunchtime arrived and some physical exercise related activity was taken.
The afternoon saw me entertain our young uni work experience lady vying for the yearly internship programme. A last minute request from my boss meant I could do some concurrent activity to introduce her to our ecommerce website and set up three new books at the same time.
Thankfully she didn’t fall asleep and should probably apply for acting over journalism for actually coming across interested.
The day came to a close. Off to pick up my youngsters. This became youngster as for some reason my youngest has started to opt for staying at home with mum. Confused I am. When with me she is happy and bubbly. Full of the vibrance of life and contentment. So I cannot quite put my finger on the reason for not wanting to come. Though the ipad, earphones and chocolate bar she was brandishing when I arrived at the front door may well have something to do with it.
Still this gave me time to spend with my eldest. Planning a joint birthday party with her step sister. A hawaiian mocktail party. The mind boggles and I am strangely intrigued and excited at the prospect.
Once the youngster had settled with bedtime story read, Fingers by David Walliams, it was off to the supermarket to do a quick late night weekly food shop before the place closed.
Finally home again, goodies put away and now laid in bed.
Still got a bit of revision to do before sleep… and read another chapter from the Book of Dust by Philip Pullman.
So, I hope you spring day has been a good one. Whatever adventures you got up to!
